Crocodile Park
The Davao Crocodile Park is an establishment that showcases a ‘state of the art’ crocodile farming system in the Philippines. Philippine Eagle Centre
The Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) is an 8.4-hectare area located at the foothills of Mt. Apo in Malagos, Baguio District, Davao City and situated within the Malagos Watershed. The Philippine Eagle Center primarily operates as a conservation breeding facility for the critically endangered Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) and other birds of prey.
People’s Park
The park covers an area of 4 hectares (9.9 acres). One of the main features of the park is a 425 square meters (4,570 sq ft) visitors’ center, the Durian Dome, which has a design inspired from the durian fruit. Museo Dabawenyo
The Museo Dabawenyo building is formerly the Court of First Instance. It was restored and rehabilitated to house and showcase the rich history and diverse cultural heritage of the people of Davao. It was established by the City Government of Davao, through the initiative of the 14th City Council under City Ordinance No. 0266-06, Series of 2006 signed into law by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte on November 15, 2006. It was funded under the Special Education Fund of the Local School Board. The museum was first opened to the public during the 71st Araw ng Dabaw grand opening celebration on March 14, 2008.
Museo Dabawenyo is divided into four rooms:
– The Indigenous People’s Gallery is a collection of arts, crafts, musical instruments, weapons and the like made by the different tribes who lived in the Davao.
– The Moro People’s Gallery is a collection of miniature houses; lamps, boats, musical instruments, chairs, weapons, armors and crowns used by the Muslim people in Mindanao.
– The Contemporary Gallery is a collection of classic and modern designs from wood carvings to paintings among many others.
– The Memorabilia Gallery is a collection of olden day clothes, bills (money), musical notes, porcelains and many more.
D’Bone Collector Museum
A first in Mindanao and one-of-its-kind in the Philippines, D’ Bone Collector Museum is a welcome addition to the ever-growing number of museums in Davao City. The Museum features a unique collection of over 200 well-preserved skeletons of various animal species from different environments such as the plains, shallow seas and reefs, tropical rainforests, lowlands, and arid regions, including the skeletal remains of two rare sperm whales, one of which is a 41-foot (12.4 meters) long sperm whale which is the largest species of toothed whale and on display at the center of the Museum. The bones of the sperm whales are among the 47 skeletal remains displayed in the world and two of only four in the Philippines.
